Day 18 (30 Days of Gratitude)

Day 18: Baking!

I’ve always loved to bake. I used to bake cookies and brownies all the time for boys I liked back when I was in school (the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, right?). Now, I enjoy baking for my husband and son and also whipping something up to bring into work with me from time to time.

Christmas baking has always been a thing my mum and sister’s do in our family too, including making handmade chocolates as gifts for family and friends, which always pleases the recipients. A number of years ago, my mother and I took cake decorating classes together and ever since were saddled with making whatever special occasion cake was required for close friends and family members from then on. Not that we minded….well most of the time.

Now baking is something I do to relax. I find in therapeutic in a way. It is always something that I enjoy doing with my toddler as he loves helping me bake. I am not a professional by any means but I am grateful for the skill and grateful for the time I get to spend with my son while getting to do something that I enjoy together. ❤
